Carsten Ziegeler is a Principal Scientist at Adobe, shaping the future of work through Generative AI—innovative yet pragmatic, impactful yet safe. He is passionate about designing and delivering efficient, high‑value solutions that turn breakthrough ideas into everyday tools. His work spans copilots, intelligent assistants, and agentic workflows, translating cutting-edge concepts into scalable, enterprise-ready products.

Carsten excels at bridging research and delivery, advancing new interaction models such as agentic collaboration and multimodal UX, while upholding rigorous evaluation, meaningful guardrails, and measurable outcomes.

Previously, he played a pivotal role in evolving Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) as a Cloud Service—from infrastructure and platform architecture to developer experience—driving greater efficiency and speed for practitioners. He now applies that same platform rigor to Generative AI.

With over 20 years in digital experiences and more than 35 years in open source, Carsten is a longtime member of the Apache Software Foundation, a contributor to several Apache communities, and a frequent speaker at technology and open-source conferences.
