15 Years of Women at adaptTo() - The Facts and the Untold Stories Behind the Numbers
adaptTo() turns 15 in 2026. Fifteen years of talks, lightning sessions, panels — and a speaker roster that tells a story most attendees have never looked at closely.
This talk presents a data-driven analysis of female representation at adaptTo() across all 15 editions — every speaker, every year, classified and counted. The numbers are surprising in both directions. On the surface, recent editions look more diverse than ever. But dig into the data and a more complex picture emerges.
Because the adaptTo() numbers don't stand alone. The Apache projects AEM is built on — Sling, Felix, Jackrabbit Oak — have their own numbers. So does KubeCon. Taken together, they start to answer a question the adaptTo() data alone can't: why do the numbers look the way they do — and what has actually moved them?
We went looking for answers — and this talk shares what we found about the AEM ecosystem, and where we think it leads.
