While revisiting deployment in Sling at last year's adapt.to we introduced a new attempt of creating a provisioning model tentatively called Sling Features. While this effort is still underway it has broadened in scope heading towards a general purpose feature model for OSGi with the goals of defining a common, extensible mechanism to describe features and resolver-based algorithm to combine features to either create higher level features or an OSGi applications.
In this talk we will give an update on the current state, review the requirements that drive the work, and give an outlook on future usage scenarios.
